its depend on which protocol used in transport layer
Connection Oriented
datagram subnet is connection oriented network.
TCP is the protocol of network layer, It is connection oriented protocol. UDP is the protocol of network layer, It is connection less protocol.
In connection oriented network first is confirmation of establishment of connection then only communication can take place while in connection less without establishment confirmation the communication start up.
In a virtual circuit network, there is an end-to-end connection in the sense that each router along the path must maintain state for the connection; hence the terminology connection service. In a connection-oriented transport service over a connectionless network layer, such as TCP over IP, the end systems maintain connection state, but the routers have no notion of any connections; hence the terminology connection-oriented service.
Reset the connection to automatic or the correct setting (if known).
In circuit switching, a connection is established between two network nodes before they begin transmitting data.
TCP has an acknowledgement technique of checking if data packet is received either at the client or at the server end, this is what makes it a connection oriented network service.whileUDP does not guarantee reliability of ordering or acknowledgement the way TCP does. Datagrams may appear out of order, missing or appear duplicated. This is what makes it a connectionless oriented network service.
its just awesome
If the printer is connected to the same network, yes you can print without switching networks.
Connection-oriented service requires as session connection be established before any data can be sent with a direct physical connection between the sessions. This often considered to be a more reliable network service than the alternative, connectionless service. Fore more information you can visit website:http://www.iyogibusiness.com
An upper-layer packet is split into 10 frames, each of which has an 80 percent chance of arriving undamaged. If no error control is done by the data link protocol, how many times must the message be sent on average to get the entire thing through? An connection-oriented service (like TCP) does error checking and requests data to be resend. The packet has several options for error free transport. Connectionless service (think UDP) does not check for undamaged arival. It has a much smaller packet size and is also faster.
