Why a twelve year old who just started getting her period get it twice in one month?

The body takes awhile to "settle down" when a girl first starts. This may go on for awhile. Some months you have a 10 day period and the next month a 3 ( actually the same thing happens when menopause happens). It is a good idea if you get a calendar and make the days of your period and that way you can see a pattern develop.

Menstruation is determined by the menstrual cycle, although the average cycle is around 28 days (which is a little shorter than a month), shorter cycles may result in a girl menstruating more than once in a calendar month.
