No its not possible for motor oil to leak into any transmission, that are not directly connected to each other for fluid transfer. they're only attached by a flywheel or in autos case a flexplate....
It is possible for the engine oil to leak at the rear seal into the transmission, but it will leak to the ground through a hole in the bottom of the transmission made for this purpose.
It definitely is a possible cause of it jerking, if it's not an engine mount, service the transmission
Yes, Brakes can be used in Auto transmission car when the Engine is off.
You will have to remove the transmission pan that is on the bottom of the transmission to drain the fluid.
There is no drain plug in the automatic transmission pan , you have to drop the pan with transmission fluid in it , if you want to change the filter etc.
4.3L Engine w/Auto Transmission: 13.0 quarts / 12.0 liters 4.8L Engine w/Auto Transmission: 13.4 quarts / 12.7 liters 5.3L Engine w/Auto Transmission: 13.4 quarts / 12.7 liters 6.0L Engine w/Auto Transmission: 14.8 quarts / 14.0 liters As a side note, there are other various combinations for manual transmission, optional air conditioning, or optional engine oil cooler. The capacities provided are a good starting point if your vehicle has these other options. Also, these are dry capacities. A simple drain and refill will not require as much coolant.
u have auto or manual?
auto-drain the fluid replace the filter and refill with new AFT (automatic transmission fluid) mannul-drain and replace fluid
That would be a 4L60E transmission.
You should be able to. I have a 96 engine and auto tranny in a 91 model lsi hardtop. Everything works great.
If it's an auto-trans you'll need to pull the pan.
If it is a auto trans and there is no drain plug, you have to drop the pan, and change the filter and gasket while you at it. If it is a manual, there is a plug on the lower passenger side of the transmission body. pull it and the fluid will drain.
Auto transmission drain plug is on the drivers side front of engine facing down. Its a hexagon shaped plug. Drain fluid, install new crush washer from Toyota and fill through trani dipstick using same amount of recommended Toyota (T-IV) fluid. Cheers,
