Yes. There are several ways to 'awaken'. Meditation is only one of them. Two other ways (there are more) are to love everyone unconditionally including yourself, or to dedicate yourself to service to the world.

Some masters recommend not to practice lying relaxation for more than one hour, maybe because of the risk of getting drowsy. I am not sure why. Nevertheless, there is no such limit recommendation for seated meditation.
It is not possible for a person to miss an entire night of sleep without being tired the next day. A person may drink energy drinks or coffee to try to keep themselves awake.

The question in reference pertains to the second stage of consciousness where it is associated with dreams. There can be no significant interpretation to this situation. But this situation can surely lead to higher levels of meditative stages, with more efforts.
