Yes, so treat it fast.

Untreated tonsillitis can develop into a peritonsillar abscess (also called quinsy). This condition consists of a collection of pus beside the tonsil (peritonsillar space). It is a life threatening complication.

Tonsillitis is an infection and inflammation of the Tonsils. When a patient is affected they usually have a "yeasty" odor to breath and exhibit white patches on the tonsils themselves. The person with tonsillitis sounds like someone who has "hot potatoes" in their mouth when speaking. Removal of the tonsils and adenoids is the usual procedure if there is a continual problem....Risk of complications and hemorrhage increases with age.

Yes and no, tonsils flair due to infection. You can catch the infection/bug that someone else has and your tonsils are a line of defense, helping to stop the infection from going any further.

Does circumcision cause tonsils?

No. circumcision is the removal of foreskin from the penis, which is in a completely different part of the body than the tonsils, which are located in the throat. Every human being has tonsils, which is a natural part of the human body so it is TONSILITIS that I believe is being referred to here, which is an inflammation of the tonsils and no, removing the foreskin of the penis does not cause tonsil issues of any kind.

Palatine tonsils and adenoids are NOT synonymous. Palatine tonsils, sometimes called faucial tonsils, are found at the back of the throat. Adenoids are the pharyngeal tonsils, located in the back of the nasal cavity.

Does removing tonsils hurt?

Yes, it hurts a lot but you get to eat a lot of ice cream. You can't talk for days. And it doesn't really help anything unless they're swollen. Everyone used to think that it helped to have your tonsils taken out you wouldn't get any more strep throat, but that was a myth.

Will having your tonsils out help with panic attacks and inflammation?

Inflammation will likely be cured by removal of the tonsils if the inflammation in question is in the throat. As for panic attacks, unless they are triggered by anxiety regarding the inflammation and tonsil-related health concerns, tonsil removal is probably irrelevant. If the panic attacks are triggered by anxiety regarding inflammation of the tonsils, having the tonsils removed will stop those particular panic attacks - but such a person is evidently prone to anxiety disorders and might want to consider discussing the matter with their doctor as the presence of panic attacks may point to an underlying inability to cope.
