The Unions greatly appreciated leader was named George G. Meade, had a very strong army and had more strength than the Confederate army, which is why Confederacy got "defeated." Although Union had more strength than Confederacy a lot more soldiers were wounded, but Union did end up capturing more of Confederacy's' army though.
