There are many tourist attractions in London, there are so many that it is impossible to list them all down in a single answer! But a few notable sights are the London Eye, the Tower of London, the Millennium Dome, the Greenwich Observatory, the National Gallery, the Natural History museum and many more. There are even many sights outside of London that attract tourists, such as Windsor Castle.
London Bridge is a very ordinary bridge which crosses the river Thames in London. The first bridge across the river was built by the Romans about 2000 years ago and there has been a bridge on the site ever since. At one time there were shops and houses on the bridge, which eventually collapsed - hence the children's song 'London Bridge is Falling Down'. Many foreigners mistakenly think that Tower Bridge - the next bridge downstream and much more interesting - is London Bridge.
Answering this question quite a bit. The guards got their names from their parents not long after they were born.
Absolutely not! London Bridge is an ordinary modern (1973) bridge which spans the river Thames. Its predecessor, built in 1820, is now located at Lake Havasu in Arizona. Tower Bridge, completed in 1894, also spans the river Thames and is the only bridge across the Thames which can be raised to allow large ships to pass underneath it, although that doesn't happen very often now. The original Victorian mechanism can still be seen in working condition in the bridge's museum. The bridge is quite distinctive, with two tall towers at each end and is situated next to the Tower of London from where it got its name.No. They are two separate and very different bridges. Foreigners often think that Tower Bridge is London Bridge, but they are very wrong.
The Tower of London was a combination of things. It was the Kings living quarters, and a prison. It is made up of several buildings ( still is) and has guards and personal to serve the king. Through the 1000 years of the middle ages it changed over and over and it's uses changed as well. Buildings were torn down at times and other things put up. Inside the White Tower the King had a private chapel ( it is still there) called St. James Chapel. It is large and can't be missed in London.
No. The houses that were burnt down were built of wood and were tightly packed together. The Tower of London is built of stone and is surrounded by a moat.
