The IIT-JEE 2013 eligibility criteria will focus on class XII percentage such that only top 20 percent students will be selected for IIT-JEE 2013. If you are not among the top 20 percent students then you are not eligible.
If your class XII percentage marks is good then you can have a chance.
Especially for IIT Kanpur, you cannot need previous year percentage because for 2012 batch students eligibility criteria remains same as 2012 and new formula is only for 2013 batch students.
