Yes you can. It's much easier with Vicodin than say Morphine, however Vicodin is still an opiate and is therefore very strong and influencing. If one abuses the drug and/or takes it habitually, it will be harder to quit. I'd say it is comparable to marijuana perhaps, though with heavy use physical withdrawals can occur. Good luck.

∙ 13y agoYes, it is safe to quit taking Methadone cold turkey because it has a longer half-life than most other opiates or opioid meaning it will stay in your system longer. You will experience some withdrawal symptoms depending on the dose you are taking. The withdrawal symptoms aren't near as severe as something such as Percocet or Vicoding but symptoms may last longer. If you are taking more than 40-50mg a day you should check with your doctor first.

You really shouldn't just quit Topamax cold turkey. Topamax is a med that has to be tapered off slowly just as you were put on the medecine hopefully. If you were to stop suddenly you could actually cause a siezure which could be very dangerous for you and the baby!

Cipro specifically has an impact. The clinic where you get your methadone should have the drugs that effect strength your dose should be posted at the dispensing window. The dispensing nurse should be able to answer most simple questions and while most dispensing nurses act like they know everything but in reality in most states the are just LVN and unless they are very conscientious, their knowledge is not very extensive.

Suboxone will not but the methadone will show as an opiate. I would give the methadone a good four days to get out but keep taking your suboxone so you dont get sick. i have been on probation taking u.a.'s for about a year and have been on suboxone for the same amount of time. You should NOT stop taking those medications cold turkey with out severe side effects. Go back on your regular dosage. Call the doctor that perscribed the medication and tell him you would like to stop taking it. At that point you and your Doctor can come up with a weening program that will make the transistion much more comfortable and safe for you. You have a much better chance of relapse if you quit cold turkey. Take care

they can't tell. the only way you can measure the levels of methadone currently flowing through your system would be a blood test. they just make sure that you're taking your methadone - not how much.
