Vetamins are basically vitamins developed for pets. It is unlikely that they will cause any problems, but they may not have the desired effect in a human as it would in a pet. For example, the pills to cause the pet's fur to be shiny, though not toxic to humans, would probably not cause your hair to be shiny. But it is important to remember these vitamins were developed for animals and have not been tested on humans to determine safety.

As with human vitamins, it would be highly unlikely to have any problem with the water soluble vitamins like vitamin C or the B vitamins, but with the fat soluble ones (A, E, D, and K), you have to be careful because your body does not excrete those as well and can build up to be toxic.
