Over the past 50 years science and psychology have realized that being gay is merely a 'non-pathological, regularly occurring minority variant' in the human condition.
That is, science is telling us that there is nothing wrong with being gay. Being gay is just part of the normal range of variations in human beings. This is the natural law becoming clearer.
The people who wrote the Old and New Testaments didn't understand that. They thought gay people were actually straight people who were being very perverse and unnatural. In fact gay people are born gay. Many recent studies have examined this and just about all of them conclude that gayness is fixed before birth, maybe genes or hormones, but it is a "no fault" condition. It's natural for gay people to be gay. It is unnatural if they try to be straight.
When you are being true to yourself, then you aren't committing a sin. When you are loving someone in a caring situation, you aren't committing a sin.
Gay people usually have had to examine their feelings and orientation very carefully before we come to an acceptance that we are gay. We have thought about this carefully. We have no choice. We have to be gay, and be the best gay person we can be!

Sin has nothing to do with psychology nor new interpretations of 'natural laws'. To sin is to violate a moral or rule within a religion. Being true to yourself whilst breaking such rules is still sinning. If you believe in that particular religion.
By this, accurate, definition homosexuality is a sin in the eyes of many religions.
Religious adherents, of any kind, cannot pick and choose the parts they like and ignore the parts they do not. That is hypocrisy. Which is probably a sin also.
Many societies are becoming more tolerant of people that are homosexual and the more fundamental and radical religions are losing much of any respect they may have had.
In addition, to say that homosexuality is unnatural is a misnomer and incorrect. Unnatural means against nature, which clearly is not the case here.
