Actually, it does. If you have a Pokemon in there it'll happen to take breaks (might happen often), so with none in it makes the Pokewalker count faster. I went for a stroll last week with a Vulpix in it and counted 3908 steps, the day after I walked the same routine without a Pokemon inside and it counted 8211 steps. And you don't have to accept the Pokemon that happens to follow you, just don't click anything and you'll be fine.
It doesn't make a difference. And if you don't have a Pokemon in it, you'll get one anyway.
The Pokewalker is like a pedometer. It counts your steps and every few steps is automatically converted into a watt. The watts can be used for finding items and Pokemon.Heartgold and Soulsilver are remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver with which you had the option to buy a similar product called the Pokemon Pikachu 2.
The pokewalker is not a part of the real game. However, when you get a second Pokemon in your party, you can then put the Pokemon you want to put in your pokewalker in the PC. After you do that, save the game and turn off your DS. Once you turn it back on... there will be an option that says... connect to pokewalker. Once you click on it... you will be able to take your Pokemon on a stroll in either Refreshing Field or the Noisy forest. You choose your Pokemon from the PC, and drag it into the specified box area, then choose your route. After doing all of this it will say connect to pokewalker. For the first time, it will show a mini pokewalker on the screen with a smiley face. You have to hold the pokewalker directly up to your game cartridge with the infrared sensor facing the cartridge. Click and hold the middle button. Your Pokemon will then become smaller until it is an orb of light, and then will be transferred into your pokewalker. For a second time using it, you have to click the middle option and then click connect while holding up your pokewalker to the cartridge while transferring the Pokemon. It works for receiving or transferring. Inside the pokewalker there are a couple of options. 1. a pokeradar which is a mini game where you click on bushes with mini '!' over the bushes until you find a Pokemon. Then you battle it out until you defeat, get defeated, or capture the Pokemon. If you capture it, once you return your Pokemon, it will be put into your PC. Only three captured Pokemon are allowed per walk. costs 10 watts per poke radar. 2. a Doppler thing which allows you to play a picking minigame where you can choose different bushes in a chance to get an item. only three items are allowed per day. which combines the captured Pokemon and won items. costs three watts. 3. if your Pokemon has a musical note, exclamation point, happy face, stuff like that, bubble over it's head, then you have randomly won an item. could be watts as well. 4. step counter. It counts your steps you take and you receive 1 watt per 20 steps. 5. Pokemon interaction. You can interact with your friends using the pokewalker, once again using the connect feature. Only one trainer and one visit is allowed per day. You get a randomly selected item. (yellow shard, big pearl, etc.) Have fun explore, and each watt will get you closer to a new route and each route has individual unique Pokemon. Hope this helps.
it counts what kind of Pokemon it is
you come with it!
Impossible to answer without knowing which counts were what.
Yes, as it counts as a transfer.
You have to catch it
No one counts Pokemon like that.
There is no better. It's character - NOT religion - that counts.
I'm not so sure, but I think surfing counts as steps.
Charizard, charmeleon, charmander, ditto sort of counts cause it can switch into other pokemon, flareon, and growlithe.
You can vs your rival every monday on your game at the Pokemon League.( this also counts for HeartGold too.)
