No, this is a fallacy. Although dolphins and sharks do not seek each other to attack, they appear to have a mutual respect. Normally, a shark will only attack a lone dolphin, a sick dolphin or a calf that strays from its mother. In Port Phillip Bay, the large male dolphins that usually live outside the bay come inside at the beginning of October, which is the same time that the bronze whaler sharks come into the bay to mate and give birth. Male dolphins form a guard around the females and young to protect them during this time. Sharks usually keep their distance from the dolphins.
Yes. Dolphins can swim up to about 20 mph in the ocean, but the short fin mako can swim up to 60mph.
Yes, because dolphins swim so fast that they are the only fish to confuse a shark
No, dolphins normally do not beat up sharks. Sharks are actually predator to dolphins. Dolphins can only beat up small sharks.
The biggest black tip shark ever caught weighed about 120 pounds. This beat the previous world record at 77 pounds. The black tip shark reaches up to about five feet in length.
its kind of like 2 triangles put together at the tips
adam
A Bottlenose Dolphin. If you look up a picture you will see the teeth. (: hope this helpedd!!(:
The second largest shark species in the world is the Basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus). The largest shark species is the Whale shark (Rhincodon typus), so the second 'biggest shark' is probably also a whale shark!
They tip it over and drown it
if you've seen the movie. Dolphin tail. It moves up and down. :)
A dolphin can hurt a shark it just depends on the shark its attacking. Dolphins are pretty smart when choosing who to pick on. They have been known to gang up on certain species of sharks, but generally only those that are not dangerous to them. Dolphins tend to leave the more dangerous sharks (such as Tiger sharks) alone.
Yes, Sharks can eat dolphins. They are actually part of the diet of the great white shark. It is a common misconception that dolphins go after and kill sharks all the time. It is actually quite uncommonYes, some people think that a dolphin can beat up a shark, but very few dolphins can and will do it. Sharks can catch dolphins if they get close enough. Sharks can reach up to amazing speeds in a short distance, so they will eat a dolphin if they catch one.but that only goes for small dolphins but not the big dolphins.
There are large dolphins and small sharks. The largest of the dolphins is the Orca. It can reach lengths of 23 feet and weigh up to 4 tons. Great White sharks usually come to mind when you think of big sharks. They have been found up to 20 feet long at weights of up to 2 1/2 tons. The largest shark alive is the plankton-eating Whale Shark. It will get up to 46 feet long and weigh up to 15 tons. A large Bottlenose Dolphin (made famous by Flipper) will be up to 8 feet long and weigh up to 660 pounds. See the link
In the classic sense of the word? No. Not really. Animals don't really fight each other in that sense. A shark could certainly eat a squirrel, though, given the chance. However, if you for some reason included both of them in a fighting game, like Capcom's vs., Nintendo's SSB, or Tekken, I have a hard time seeing a tiny squirrel whaling on a tiger shark. It just doesn't seem possible. In the water, the shark could beat up the squirrel. On land ... the shark can still probably beat up the squirrel.
Not true
a dolphin can only swim up and down because its muscle structure and it spine are designed that way, if a dolphin were to swim side to side the muscle near its tail would swell damaging the spine if a shark or fish were to swim like a dolphin the same thing would happen eventually resulting in death.
DK, but maybe this will put you on the right track. Dolphins swim by moving their tails up and down, while sharks use the fishlike side to side motion which is apparently more efficient and would require less strength.
no the rumor isn't true
Unless you want to dress up like Shark Boy on Shark Tooth Island, that's not how to beat the Space Sharks. (see related question)
yeah..after i did
