Does Wikipedia have false answers?

It is unclear as to whether the asker is referring to WikiAnswers or Wikipedia. Wikipedia doesn't have a Q&A forum, so they cannot give false answers. On WikiAnswers, since users supply the answers, they are wrong a lot of times, though we try to fix those when we find them. While I know of no specific examples of articles on Wikipedia being wrong, that is very likely. What I see much of the time there is bias in articles that are open to interpretation. They have the NPOV policy that calls for a neutral point of view, but that isn't always put into practice.

Is WikiAnswers and wikipedia reliable sites for information?

No I'm sorry but wiki answers and Wikipedia are not reliable sources to find information. If you get information off of here its wrong. Wait so if all information is wrong, that means this information is wrong but its right but if it wrong it can't be true. I don't know just dont use this site...............--I would have to disagree, but i also have to agree, as some of the information on wikipedia and wikianswers is true, but some contributors tend to "sabotage" answers. Thus, making it both reliable and unreliable.

Why does one now have to sign in to access Answers-com whereas with Wikipedia this is still optional?

In order to see answers and to provide answers, one does not need to sign in. Non-members are contributing all the time. However, if you have joined in the past, it is true that the site will prompt you to log in when you visit.

Why are Wiki-based websites not dependable?

The fact that they can be changed by anyone is true. But it is also true that placing really dumb answers can cause a block that can last from several hours or for months. I know people who have done that on Wikipedia and they are blocked forever. If you want to answer questions with true answers, you will always be welcomed.
