That depends on the age of the car..the number of miles and how much the car is worth versus how much it costs to have the work done...do if you have a twelve year old car with 125000 miles and it's only worth 1500 dollars....and a head gasket job costs $400...then is that car worth about 2000 dollars to you??? And if the head gaskets are blown, chances are, that there are several other issues with that car..blown head gaskets are usually due to poor maintenance or abuse. Is the risk worth the expense if the transmission is probably going to go out soon...or if the car was driven for a while with the blown gasket...then your probably also going to have the engine seize up soon because the engine oil was contaminated with engine coolant and the bearings are now in really bad condition...always be aware that something as severe as a blown head gasket can lead to other serious repairs.
