In Ephesians 5:19 and Colossians 3:16, Christians are told to sing "psalms, hymns and spiritual songs." What we call "gospel" music is more geared toward our entertainment and is fine as such, but it's not at all the kind of profound worship and praise in song Paul speaks of.
