Think about what you just asked.
Is a high performance (reliability not a concern) car designed by Ford Motor Company to mimic the traditions of British Leyland (a company that couldn't survive due to poor quality driving customers away) and built by union workers in a socialist nation that work fewer days during the year than they don't work and are known for high annual alcohol consumption a dependable car?
Well maybe, but if so I don't want to find out, so don't tell me OK?
Of course it is. The newer Jags 2000 and up are very reliable. The 2000 when it was new cost $71k and the 2010's are around $90K.
I think you should be more specific as to your question. If it is a 1988 XJ6...all I can say is caveat emptor. If you are talking about a modern 4.0 V8 XJ8 I can tell you from personal experience that it is one of the most dependable vehicles I have owned (and I've had lots). I have been driving Jags for the past twenty years and the quality has improved by leaps and bounds. Yes you will invariably be hit by the mysterious "safe engine mode" light, but it is usually a minor problem (such as a brake switch). Make sure you do your maintenance (flush the ZF trans, use 5W-30 Mobil One and a good filter every 4-5K miles, etc) and you can reasonably expect over 100K trouble free miles out of the newer Jags (1998 and up).
The Jaguar XK8 convertible model car comes with an 8 cylinder engine. Some car enthusiasts like to upgrade the XK8 with stronger engines but 8 cylinders is always what the car ships with directly from the dealership.

Yes there are 4 seats in the jaguar xk8. Jaguar puts 4 seats in for import reasons. You have to be an anorexic midget to fit comfortably in the back seat.
Because the car wants to be stolen by someone that speaks better English.
There isn't one on a 98 XK8.
