Jesus is God. John 1:1 says that, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

And the Word is Jesus. If that isn't enough proof, the book of John is the Gospel according to John, therefore that proves the Word is Jesus, because the Gospel is Jesus' story.

Also, John 1:14,15 says, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, this was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me."

And John 14:6 says, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
