One of Link's alternate colors is what is considered the "new" Dark Link from Twilight Princess, which is the one that had red eyes, almost black skin, and dark clothing. The secret character, Toon Link, also has Dark Link colors.

No, Young Link does not return from Melee. Instead, he is replaced by Toon Link, which is the Link that appeared in the Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass games. They are more or less the same, since Toon Link is only 12 years old.

Toon link can be unlocked after beating tabuu at the great maze then going back to the forest level and when you get past the first mini brawl you will soon find a red door that never was there before go in and toon link will appear defeat him and he will join your team save and quit and you will unlock him.
