I was wondering the same thing as I have loads of eucalyptus leaves falling onto me vegetable garden. I found this: 'Oily leaves, like eucalyptus or pine will break down very slowly and release an oil into the soil leading to water absorption problems' I'm going down tomorrow to try to clear them - will be an ongoing battle though...
