∙ 14y agoIn some batteries, there is. There is only lithium in batteries that say there is lithium in it. Lithium batteries are very powerful; they give out 1.75 volts per cell. They are primary batteries, but they are not to be confused with lithium-ion batteries, which are secondary (rechargeable) batteries. Lithium batteries are toxic, so when they are depleted take them to a hazardous waste center. If I were you, I would use Ni-MH (Nickel-metal-hydride) batteries. They are secondary but really powerful and great batteries. The only downside about them is that they give out 1.2 volts, but it usually doesn't matter at all. Have fun
