crystallization is the process

Can nitrogen become a solid?

Yes, nitrogen can be liquified. It's a vey common process in fact. That is how it is transported. It is pressurized and stored in an insulated dewar. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nitrogen#Liquid_nitrogen By the way, any gas can be liquified if you reduce the temperature or increase the pressure sufficiently!

What type of rock would be formed if granite is subjected to high temperature and high pressure deep with in earth but do not melt?

How is lithosphere important?

The lithosphere is the rocky outer layer of any rocky planet, a term derived from the greek for rocky sphere. The lithosphere is important to humans, as it sheilds us, and all other organisms on Earth, from the immense heat of the Earth's inner core. The consequence of its formation is that water can exist in its liquid form, allowing for the carbon-based life forms that exist today. However, the lisophere is also important for the stability of the Earth. The inner layers of the Earth are subjected to pressure by the lisophere as it is affected by gravity, forcing the innermost elements into the Earth's radioactive core, continuing the nuclear fusion that maintains the planet's constant state of balance. Finally, due to the Earth's formation by the congregation of elements from a long-passed supernova explosion, a number of essential heavy elements, such as carbon, iron, etc. had become trapped in the lithosphere as they settled in the Earth's upper layers as it cooled. It is these elements that allow and comprise much of what exists on the surface today.

When rocks are subjected to high temperature and pressure?

Well, first of all that isn't a question. Second of all, When subjected to high temperature and pressure, such as the earth, the center of the earth is solid. as you progress outward, it becomes more liquidy.

When graphite is subjected to very high temperature and pressure does it change to a diamond?

Graphite has its own atomic structure of its basic carbon atoms. Subjecting it to very high temperature and pressure would not change its structure. Carbon, when subjected to very high temperature and pressure can be crystallized into diamond structures.

Does co2 expand when subjected extreme heat?

Volume is proportional to temperature, so if there is any increase in temperature, the volume of the gas will increase proportionally

What gas is likely to behave as an ideal gas when subjected to high temperature and low pressure?

What is the relationship between resistance and temperature?

• ntc 'negative temperature coefficient': its resistance decreases as the temperature increases• ptc 'positive temperature coefficient': its resistance increases as the temperature increases

What is diamond made of crystals or something like that you think?

Diamond is made up of Carbon atoms under tremendous temperature. After it melts, it sinks further below in the earth's mantle. Subjected to tremendous pressure, after a few billion years, diamond is formed. The mantle is a part of earth's lithosphere, which is below the crust, usually between 35- 2900 miles deep.

How does the organism withstand the water pressure and temperature at the depth where it lives?

Equalization of pressure. Most of them don't have enclosed areas that will be subjected to pressure.

What are ways to get schist?

Schist is a foliated metamorphic rock. It is formed when mudstone, shale, slate, or phyllite are subjected to higher temperature and pressure.
