Magnesium and Iodine
Magnesium and iodine react to form the ionic compound magnesium iodide - MgI2.
The reactant is magnesium carbonate.
Iodine is 127 and Magnesium is 24 so the difference is 103 atomic mass units.
A reactant exists at the beginning of a chemical reaction whilst a product exists at the end. They are alike in the fact that to get to a product you need to have a ready supply of the reactants. An example of a simple reactant/product reaction is shown below. Magnesium + Oxygen --> Magnesium Oxide Reactant + Reactant --> Products Hope this helps
Iodine 2 Magnesium
Magnesium and iodine is a element
Not it's not. Sodium is an Alkaline Metal, and Magnesium is an Alkaline Earth Metal, therefore Sodium is more reactant than Magnesium. It is because Alkaline Metals are more reactant than Alkaline Earth Metals.
Magnesium hydride is a compound.
