Yes, metro station did break up. :( They were scheduled, trace and mason, to play at a college and their manager cancelled because they had broken up. Now that metro station is broken up, Trace Cyrus is looking to do a reality show, a solo career, and a clothing line southern made Hollywood paid. Mason is just working on a solo career as well according to both mason and Trace's twitters.
