Mitosis refers to the division of the nucleus of a cell. It specifically refers to the division of the genetic material. Cytokinesis refers to the division of the cytoplasm. This process occurs directly after mitosis, sometimes in conjunction with telophase of mitosis.

Mitosis is a process that only takes place in EUKARYOTIC cells. (Mitosis is not the same as meiosis and does not take place in prokaryotic cells). During the mitotic process, chromosomes that are in a cell nucleus separate into two identical sets of chromosomes in the two daughter cells.

What is taking place in a cell when it is not undergoing mitosis?

DNA replication is the process that occurs when mitosis is not in process. Mitosis divides chromosomes in the cell nucleus.

What 3 stages are replicated before mitosis?

The three stages before mitosis are the G1 S and G2 phases. In the G1 phase the cell grows, in the S phase the cell replicates its DNA, and in the G2 phase the cell grows again and replicates/ makes any organelles required for mitosis.

The process in which eukaryotic cells divide?

Mitosis (in stages - PMAT - Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase) The cycle of a cells division is the 'Interphase' and the actual mitosis. During the Interphase the cell goes through growth which grows extra organelles, Synthesis which makes new DNA and growth again for more organelles. It then goes through mitosis (PMAT) simply the dividing of chromosomes and splitting of the cell, of course this is far more detailed but I'll keep it short. Mitosis is for division of nucleus, but for division of the cell itself, the process is called cytokinesis.

What stage does nuclear division occur?

there are two main stages in a cells life interphase and mitosis in interphase the cell grows and copies it's chromosomes and then in mitosis is when it starts to divide It takes place when the cell becomes to large to correct the surface area to volume ratio of the cell. More surface area means that it is easier to transport nutrients into the cell and wastes out of the cell.

Mitosis is a process of what?

the identcal replication of one cell to greate a genetially identical daughter cell x

That process of cell division by which an organism grows is?

The process of cell division by which an organism grows is mitosis.

Is mitosis a cycle?

Yes. Mitosis starts off as a single cell then the cell membrane disinegrates, the DNA divides and the cell membrane grows back on. And it eventually doubles and it repeats the process over and over.

How do cells grow and divide.?

A cell divides and grows through a process called mitosis, you can look it up for further information. :)

What processes divide the cell nucleus and its contents?

Mitosis is the process that divides the cell nucleus and it's contents.

Does the cell cycle have a beginning and an end?

The cell cycle starts at Interphase where the cell works and grows. It stays in interphase for 90% of the total time of the cell cycle. The end of the cell cycle is Mitosis and Cytokinesis. Mitosis is the process that divides the nuclear material. Cytokinesis is the process that divides the cytoplasm and the rest of the organelles in half.Hope i helped.

What reproductive mechanism does a haplontic animal grow?

Mitosis is the reproductive mechanism by which a haplontic animal grows. Mitosis is the process in the cell cycle by which the chromosomes in the cell nucleus are separated into two identical sets of chromosomes, each in its own nucleus.

Which process is not during mitosis?

The state that the cell is in when it isn't undergoing the process of mitosis is Interphase.

In many this process follows mitosis?

The process that follows mitosis in cells is cytokinesis. Cytokinesis is the process of the cell dividing the daughter cell from the original cell before the process starts again.

What are the three stages of the cell cycle?

The three stages of the cell cycle are interphase mitosis and cytokinesis. Interphase is when the cell grows and get all the nutrients that it need for mitosis, and replicates the DNA. Mitosis is when the cell divides into two daughter cells. Finally cytokinesis when the cells are completely separated.
