Movie producers give the public what they believe it wants because this is what creates profits. If the public stayed away from violent movies then movie violence would decrease dramatically. If the public flock to violent movies then movie violence will increase. It's a matter of supply and demand and making money.

Wars happen for a lot of reasons: scarce resources, religious hostility, ethnic strife. If you have an optimistic view of humanity, perhaps these are all things which can be overcome, and war is not inevitable. If you take a dimmer view of mankind, perhaps war is inevitable.
