No it is not the oldest mountain. The oldest mountains in the world are the Wichita Mountains. They are located in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. The mountains are a northwest-southeast trending series of rocky promontories, many capped by 540 million-year old granite. These were exposed and rounded by weathering during the Permian Period.

Many people don't believe that Mt. Everest is still the highest mountain after the accident in 2003 but it is true that it is still the highest mountain in the world.

Mount Everest is around 50 million years old. That may sound really old but there are older mountain chains on earth that are older.
