Control the masses for the benefit of a few at the top. The only real sin is in hurting someone else intentionally. Hurting yourself is just stupid. Masturbating hurts no one. You have to decide for yourself if it is a sin or if you want to think for yourself and not be controlled by some outdated belief system.
