The Bible teaches that the dead are unconscious. They are resting like in a deep sleep. They can't harm us nor they can help us. They cease to exist.
But there is hope. This is what Jesus promised in John 5:28, 29 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life
According to the Bible we will see again our loved ones we've lost because of death. Where? Here on Earth under God's Kingdom. The same Kingdom Jesus taught us to pray for in
Matthew 6:9,10 "You must pray, then, this way:"'Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10 Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.
