Neon is monatomic gas. That is a gas that exists as single uncombined atoms.

Ionic or Covalent means the type of bonding betyween atoms.

No. Although sodium quite easily forms ionic bonds, neon is a "noble gas," which is very unlikely to participate in any chemical reactions.

The various nitrogen oxide molecules are covalently bonded. Most small molecules like H2O, CH4, etc. are covalently bonded. Ionic bonded materials tend to be massive crystals like NaCl.

No. Neon is a "noble gas". This group is composed of all the elements in group 8 of the Periodic Table. These gases almost never form bonds of any type with any elements/compounds.
