Of course it is. Violence only creates more violence and hatred. The only way to settle disagreements is compromise, talk and education.
Non violent solutions are always appropriate though often not possible.
Are you serious,non-violence is always appropriate in any times. Violence is the problem ! We build jails to house violent people & that is where violent people belong. I lived in an apartment building that every tenant was constantly harassed and assaulted by 1 crackhead nut job. The manager was scared of this person and the retaliation by this persons gang. Have someone harass you every day of your life and see if you think violence is OK. Thank god he is now in prison where he belongs. We could have shot and killed this man and got away with it, but we did not lower ourselves to his level. The authorities did there job. When we all become the police then who will police us ?
Yes. Non-violence/pacifism is good. Unfortunately someone has to take a stand against violence, with violence , or the non-violent people will be eliminated by violent people.
In some cities, it seems as if violence is non-stop.
There are different ways to fight with non violence, this may include peaceful protests or marches. The other method of fighting with non violence is petitions.
The noun 'violence' is a mass (non-count) noun; multiples for violence are expressed as incidents of violence, acts of violence, occurrences of violence, reports of violence, etc.
There is no doubt that violence involves both genetic and environmental factors. For example, a blade of grass is always non-violent. It's genetics do not allow for violence (or even for motion). A human being is capable of violence, yet, some human beings are never violent. People, at least when they are sane, recognize that there are only certain types of situations in which violence would be appropriate.
Non violence in Tagalog can be translated to "di-pagiging marahas" or "walang karahasan."
