Best Answer

In sufficiently large quantities (much more than typically used in cooking), nutmeg will have deliriant effects with an onset of several hours and effects for up to three days, but carries side effects including dizziness, flushes, dry mouth, accelerated heartbeat, temporary constipation, difficulty in urination, nausea, and panic. Additionally, there is some amount of risk entailed, as ingesting too much nutmeg can cause an acute toxic psychosis that may require hospitalization.

most definitely. Take a couple of tablespoons and wait 4-6 hours. You'll trip for a long time though. Freshly ground nutmeg works best.
