The community college is called Oakmeeds Community College. Despite what people say it is exactly the same as other schools in the area, if not even better as the teachers and pupils tend to have a very good working relationship with each other. Also it has the lowest rate of bullying in senior schools in the area. And which ever person gave a previous answer to this question obviously hadnt been to oakmeeds as very few people have been to prison and have/are hooked on drugs....and if so this was years after they left the school, not during. Sure the school has problems, what school doesnt, but they try their hardest to combat this and if anything it is a very high achieving state school -i should know I am one of their high achieving pupils. They never give up on difficult children with or without special needs and offer another school (The Bridge) which is a combination of Oakmeeds and Newick House School. I would recommend sending your child to Oakmeeds as despite its horrible reputation it is actually a good school which only has your child's interests at heart. Many of its pupils have gone on to be great people- some are even back at Oakmeeds but this time they are teaching !
