What do you think will happen to your body if the left side of your brain is not functioning?

Sometimes the other side of the brain still works. The left side is artistic, and the right side is more logical. So if you damage one side, the other side might still work. However, depending on how great the damage is, you could damage your whole brain because of that one side, and you mgiht never be able to think complete thoughtsor talk or process what your doing again, even if you are still able to do some things. You may just never feel; never love or care. But it might, hopefully, be the first scenario, or you don't get half your brain damaged at all which could happen only in extreme cases.

A lot can happen if the left side of the brain stops working in an adult.

The left frontal lobe is related to personality and picking up social cues. A person missing that part frequently gets confused about how he or she is comes across and the meaning of other people's behavior.

Brocas Area sits above the left frontal lobe. It helps a person select proper words. A person can sometimes use a previous answer. Sometimes a person will give an inappropriate appropriate answer. Sometimes a person will stumble all around trying for a regular answer.

Behind Brocas Area lies Werkenies Area. That enables a person to understand the spoken language. A person with damage to that area will sit in a daze while the rest of the brain tries to make sense of a spoken sentence.
