The idea was to provide some continuity in the Senate (this is also why Senators serve longer terms than other federal elected officials). Since there is never an election year in which it's possible for all 100 seats to be filled by newcomers, there will always be someone with at least some experience in the Senate.
No Senators are elected two years. They have 6 year terms.
Six; every two years, a third of the Senate is removed/reelected.
one third of the Senate
true
The entire House of Representatives must be re-elected every two years. 1/3 of the Senate is elected every two years.
One third of the Senate is elected every two years. Senators serve six year terms. With 100 members of the Senate at the moment, every six years 1/3 plus one of the Senators stands for election since 100 cannot be divided equally by 3.
The Senate is elected every 6 years and the Senate is divided into classes so a third is up for election at any one time. Only the House has a 2 year term.
the portion of the senate that is elected every 2 years is one third of them have to run for re-election. they do this because if someone new is elected, then they can become aclimated and all that so that if all new people were elected, then a whole huge amount of time isn't spent on trying to get them aclimated to how things run or work or whatever. hope this answers your question. thanks for reading, WAT NAO

the senate
the senate
Congress works on a cycle, the house of representatives are elected every two years, and the senate every six years on a two year cycle, creating a third of the house elected each year.
