I'll describe: on the left hand (counting from the thumb {as 1 thumb, 2 index finger, 3 middle finger, and then the fourth is where you wear the ring on})
why shouldn't a ring be worn on a pinky finger? if you like it do it as long as its not a safety risk at work.
A pinky ring is worn on the pinky finger of either the right or left hand. The pinky finger is the smallest finger and located the farthest from the thumb.
Eternity rings, having evolved from wedding rings, are also worn on the "ring finger", which is normally the third finger of the left hand.

The Akatsuki wear their rings as follows, also, they take their rightful place on the hand statue. * Right thumb: 零 (rei, "zero"); worn by Pein, * Right index finger: 青 (sei, shō, "blue", "green"); worn by Deidara. * Right middle finger: 白 (bya, "white"); worn by Konan. * Right ring finger: 朱 (shu, "vermilion," "scarlet"); worn by Itachi Uchiha. * Right little finger: 亥 (gai, "sign of the boar"); worn by Zetsu. * Left little finger: 空 (kū, "sky," "void"); worn by Orochimaru. * Left ring finger: 南 (nan, "south"); worn by Kisame Hoshigaki. * Left middle finger: 北 (hoku, "north"); worn by Kakuzu. * Left index finger: 三 (san, "three"); worn by Hidan. * Left thumb: 玉 (gyoku, "jewel," "ball," also the black king in shogi); worn by Sasori and later by Tobi (aka Madara).
