Saint Nicholas, better known as Santa Claus, was a man back in the old days who,on December 25th of each year, brought presents to good children around the world with the help of his wife and children. Some believe they traveled by sleigh pulled by flying reindeer. This is false;the reindeer did not, cannot, and will not fly. However, the reindeer were very fast, and due to time zones,Nicholas and his family could succeed in giving presents to the world in 1 day.

Saint Nicholas and his wife have passed away,so the job is passed down to their descendants.

And no,there were no "elves" as they don't exsist, but Nicholas' children did make toys

And "Santa Claus" didn't live in the North Pole, but he was close.

That's what I believe anyway.
