yes, oxycodone is way worse. however i have managed through getting out daily. i have used soma and ambien to sleep and clonidine for blood pressure with has helped alot. daily I take vitamins and alieve. the first day was the worse for me, but suprisingly the 2nd day was better and the third day( today) is ok. i did take the meds as prescribed, however I was still at 120mgs daily. My injury area is the main problem i deal with at this time. I had accidently dropped the remainder of my pills down the sink and cant fill for a week. so I have no choice but to go through this. Whenever I am healed, i do intend to taper off, not cold turkey.

In a word, not really. If you've been taking oxycodone for a long enough time at a high enough dose and switch to hydrocodone you WILL suffer withdrawal symptoms. Oxy is a schedule II and hydro is a schedule III, meaning oxy is stronger. I also suspect there is a difference in where the two bond to opiate receptors in the brain. I've been on approx. 100mg a day of oxy for several months and recently switched to a similar dose of hydro. Feel terrible. Crawling out of my skin terrible. Don't think you can detox easily by getting a script for Vicodin. Good luck folks. Opiate addiction is no fun!

I took a 30mg Roxy 2 hours after taking a 2mg suboxone. Would I feel the Roxy?

Yeah you can just not as much. Its not designed to let you but if u take two you will. If you mix the two you better watch out for that precipitated withdrawal. It will leave you with nowhere to turn. Precipitated withdrawals are way worse than normal withdrawals. Good luck!

Which drug has worse withdrawal side effects benzodiazepine or alprazolam?

Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine.

Is oxycoton dangerous to take?

Oxycodone is generally safe when taken as directed. However, there are several possible ways in which the risks of taking this medication can be exacerbated. Combining oxycodone with other opioids or depressants (alcohol, benzodiazepines, etc.) can be very dangerous and potentially can cause a life-threatening overdose. Additionally, taking more oxycodone than prescribed can also cause a dangerous overdose. It is worth noting that if oxycodone or any opioid is taken regularly for an extended period of time, addiction and/or dependence can result. Even individuals taking the prescribed dose of this medication will likely experience withdrawal symptoms upon cessation after extended use (a couple weeks of daily use is generally sufficient to result in dependence). Of course, the higher the dose taken, the worse the withdrawal will generally be.

How long after you use Oxycontin can you take suboxone?

It really depends on the individual. If you do not have a physical addiction yet to opiates and do not experience withdrawal symptoms from opiates, then it really doesn't matter. Nothing will happen because your body doesn't need the opiates that have filled your receptors (and will be kicked off those receptors by suboxone) in order to maintain normal function. You'll simply not be high at the very worst. If you are physically dependant on opiates and experience withdrawal symptoms from stopping use or from the lack of access to opiates, then you should wait until full withdrawal symptoms manifest. In some people this can be up to 24 hours or longer. Again, it is based on the individual. Taking suboxone prior to entering full withdrawal symptoms will cause Precipitated Withdrawal Syndrome and you will not only go immediately into withdrawal, it will be worse than normal withdrawals because of the sudden onset as opposed to the gradual onset. Plus you won't be able to use either opiates (unless an extreme amount is used which raises overdose and other problems) or suboxone to relieve the withdrawals for between 12 and 24 hours.

Is alcohol the only drug that can kill you in the with drawl process?

Nope. If a person is dependent upon Benzodiazapines (sp?) such as xanax and is suddenly forced to stop taking them, the withdrawals can be just as dangerous, if not worse, than alcohol withdrawals. Serious cases usually require hospitalization.

Will Dilaudid help with morphine withdrawals?

do not take dilaudid for morphine withdrawals.this is ascenine..U will simply start your detox over being how dilaudid is 4 to 5 times stronger than morphine accroding to mgs. It will stop your withdrawals and when that pill has worn off you will be in worse shape than you started. Dilaudid is just as or more addictive than morphine.Hope this helps.hang in there I'm on day 4 of morphine withdrawals myself...just hang tight i know it sux but you can do it.. ---- Also a major factor that makes Dilaudid unsuitable for treating morphine withdrawal is, like morphine, it has a short half-life and relatively short duration of action. The longer acting opioids (such as methadone) are used for tapering and maintenance because they require less frequent dosing and stay in the body longer, thus creating less harsh withdrawal symptoms.

Can you take suboxone after taking Oxycontin?

Not unless you feel like going into intense precipitated withdrawals and wanting to claw your eyes out. Trust me, don't do it. In fact, you need to wait at the bare minimum 12-15 hours after your last dose of heroin until you can take suboxone. You should really wait 24 hours though. You need to be in withdrawal from the heroin before the suboxone will work without making it ten times worse.

Can you take kolonipin and norco together?

Yes they are medically safe, but you should discuss the dosage with your doctor and if you are trying to wean yourself off of oxycodone, the klonopin can actually help with some of the withdrawal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting as well as inability to fall asleep; however, be careful because klonopin as well as oxycodone are highly addictive and dependency for klonopin can become far worse than that of oxycodone. I recommend not doing either unless appropriately prescribed and follow the prescribed dosage by your physician!

What are the consequences of alcohol?

Liver failure, which happens to be a miserable, painful way to die. Seizures. Alcohol withdrawal, which in my experience as a nurse has proven in my patients to be worse than heroin withdrawal.

Does methadone last longer than vicodin?

yes it last about 24 hours while vicodin only last 5 hours. But be careful as methadone is more addictive than heroin, and the withdrawals are 10x worse.

Are hrdrocodone and morphine the same type of drug?

Absolutely not! Vicodan contains a narcotic called: hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is classified as an opiate--it is a man-made opiate. Other opiates include: oxycodone, morphine, fentanyl, and heroin. Opiates are used to control moderate to severe pain, and they are highly addictive. Methadone is a synthetic substance as well. Recently methadone has been approved for Chronic pain relief in small doses, and addiction treatment in higher strengths. Methadone has a very long half-life though (24-48 hours) and withdrawals can be felt long after the pain relief properties have subsided. That is why methadone withdrawals are worse than any other narcotic pain reliever, and sometimes worse than Heroin itself. Because of this, methadone is considered a last resort for pain medication, but due to it's low cost and long lasting effects, it is becoming more popular outside of addiction. I don't think so.. Vicodin is helfing pain but Methadone eleminates is.. But you have to be carefull when you will take Methadone you cane have a apnea, ist twice more risk of death then Vicodine but ist legle and Vicodine is more dependent. So if a would have to choose between Methadone and Vicodin I would choose Vicodine because I would not wont to die when I will sleep.. every doctor can tell you that. I now because I'f been through than

Is alcohol withdrawal worse than heroine withdrawal?

I don't think that saying that "alcohol withdrawal is "worse" than heroin withdrawal" is a helpful comparison. A better way of saying it would be to say that "alcohol withdrawal is more dangerous than heroin withdrawal." The primary reason that alcohol withdrawal is considered to be more dangerous than heroin withdrawal is because with alcohol withdrawal, if not under medical supervision, there is a very good chance of death (due to the seizures that often accompany withdrawal I believe). Now this isn't to say that you WILL die. But why take that chance? (I have heard that you can die from heroin withdrawal too, but I believe that that is an extremely rare). I am currently trying to quit drinking, but have had several medical professionals tell me not to quit drinking yet because I am not yet in a medical facility. I know it sounds strange, but continuing to drink is something an alcoholic should do until they can be under medical observation. Reagardless, the main point of the comparison is to break this myth than an alcoholic could/should just say "I'm not going to drink anymore" and just sit at home detoxing by themselves, because there is a very significant chance that they could die. If you are an alcoholic, and are trying to quit drinking, you should consult some sort of medical professional, preferrably a specialist in alcohol recovery, who can advise you in the steps you need to take to overcome your addiction without putting your life in jeopardy.
