Southern Yellow Pine (often abbreviated SYP) doesn't refer to any one species of tree, but rather a group of species which are classified as yellow pine (as opposed to white pine), and are native to the American South. There are several varieties, such as longleaf pine, shortleaf pine, loblolly pine, and slash pine.See link below.
There are four main species of Southern Pine - shortleaf, longleaf, loblolly, and slash. Long Leaf Southern Pine is heavy, hard, strong and coarse grained. It is very durable when dry and well ventilated. It cannot be used in contact with the ground. It is used for heavy framing timbers and floors. Short Leaf Southern Pine can vary greatly in quality but is used as a substitute for long leaf pine.
I wouldn't recommend it ! Although they are both from the same country (and similar habitats) the Pine Snake grows MUCH bigger than the Corn Snake, and therefore represents the danger of crushing the Corn Snake, if it lays on top of it..
I dont know, but i think its venomous, not poisonous.
An arolla is another name for the stone pine - referring to either a species of pine native to southern Europe, or a Swiss stone pine.
