Photosynthesis is not a system. It is a process in plants. It is very important process.

Photosynthesis is a process of making sugars from CO2 and water by using light energy. Photosystem I and photosystem II are involved in this process to transfer electrons across the membrane. Photosynthesis occurs in plants algae and certain bacteria.

Is photosynthesis a closed or an opened system in thermodynamics?

Photosynthesis is an open system because energy enters the system and mass both enters and leaves the system. In very general terms photosynthesis is: carbon dioxide + water + light ==> oxygen + plant growth The exact process is a bit more complex, but the gist of it is that it is open because both mass and energy cross the boundaries of the system if the system is identified as the plant.

Why do plants need a healthy root system to photosynthesis?

Roots gives main physical support to aerial system of plants. Roots absorbs water and minerals from ground for the main photosynthesis activity of the plant. Some plants the roots stores the energy for the plant , generated during photosynthesis like tubers.

What tissue system of the plant body is largely responsible for photosynthesis?

The tissue system responsible for photosynthesis in the plant body is the mesophyll tissue, located in the leaves. This tissue contains chloroplasts, where photosynthesis occurs, converting light energy into chemical energy that the plant can use for growth and development.

Is the nervous system an organelle where photosynthesis occurs?

No, the nervous system is not an organelle where photosynthesis occurs. Photosynthesis is a process that takes place in specialized organelles called chloroplasts in plant cells. The nervous system is responsible for transmitting signals throughout the body and includes the brain, spinal cord, and network of neurons.
