What is the electrolyte composition?
The electrolyte composition of bile includes 145mEq/L sodium,
5mEq/L potassium, 110mEq/L of chloride and 40mEq/L bicarbonate. The
body secretes roughly 1-1.5L of bile per day. In order to replace
bile losses, lactated ringers is the appropriate intravenous fluid
to administer.
