In general in true democracies poverty is less severe, and things like starvation is less pronounced.
But poverty in one for or another will be with us for all time.
By allowing people access to the resources that sustain them.
I think Indian democracy has lot of problems, Inflation, terrorism, population, unemployment, poverty, suicides of farmers, bribe etc. are the challenges of democracy in India.
