I am a pharmacist trained in conventional medicine and alternative medicine as a sub-specialty. As such, there are certain conditions that may benefit from complementary treatment, while others may not. I don't believe that COPD is generally a good candidate for alternative or natural treatments. The nature of COPD is that it is a chronic, often progressive disease that may worsen over time without effective treatment. Natural medicines are probably ineffective in preventing the complications that may occur from disregarding more conventional treatments, with a possible permanent loss in lung function resulting. I would stick with the prescription medications for this disease.
