There has recently been an increase of television shows where psychics help the police to solve crimes. I hate to break it to you, but generally speaking this sort of thing doesn't happen, for several reasons.
First, the public and particularly the police are skeptical of the abilities of psychics. As most true psychics can not focus their talents on a specific question -like "Where is the lost child?" and get reliable answers. For a psychic to be of real help in this crime they need to be able to pinpoint the child's whereabouts. "237 North main Street in the basement" is not usually what they get. More likely they will see "A dark place, below ground" "Near traffic" "Under the yellow roses" It is not an exact science, in spite of what you may see on TV.
Second, most psychics are reluctant to contact the authorities with a "vague" idea. Who would pay much attention to a person claiming to know the president is going to be shot. And if they did, what are the chances the psychic would be under suspicion of being part of the plot.
I am not saying there aren't psychics that help solve crime, but they are rare people and rarer police officers.
I have never heard of any psychics that work with the Mafia. I would be interested to hear about it if anyone else has information.
All psychics are fakes. There is no scientific proof that the performance of so-called psychics exceeds the level of chance, once all the variables are removed. Keep in mind that psychics never work for free. That should tell you something.
There are two good ways. One is to be recommended by someone who knows and has been satified with a reading from a psychic. The second is to get a recommendation from New Age bookstore. They work with psychics on a regular basis.
you get Pokemon with skill. Psychics work well. But if you suck then its not my problem

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes, referred to Poe's "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" as a manual of detective theory and practice. Doyle admired Poe's groundbreaking work in the detective fiction genre and credited him with laying the foundation for modern detective stories.
