Is recommending cracked software illegal without providing a direct link?

Recommending cracked software is not illegal in most countries,

but using or downloading/uploading cracked software is. If

possible, try to find some free software that does the same thing.

For example, if you need to edit photos, you could use The GIMP

(http://www.gimp.org) instead of a cracked version of Adobe

Photoshop. If you need an entire operating system, try Ubuntu

(http://www.ubuntu.com) or Debian (http://www.debian.org). Both of

these programs are free as in freedom, meaning that you have the

right to run, distribute, and modify them without any special

permission. Just be sure to follow the license terms if you are

going to redistribute.
