Regeneration occurs when an organism is split into two, and both halves regrow the part of it's body that it is missing.

This is called asexual reproduction because the result was two identical organisms that are exactly the same.

because cell reproduction doesn't require egg cells or sperm cells to make the other and asexual reproduction is when none of that is needed and the cell splits in half to form 2 new cells with half of the organelles but that is only typical for unicellular organisms
