Religion has very many definitions. A religion can incorporate a supreme being, but people would argue it is not part of their imagination. Religions revolving about nature and the superiority of science and the Universe exist as well. Religion can be defined as what you do and your spirituality. What you beleive.

It depends on what you mean, "just an imagination"... If you mean religiously, then yes... God created us in his image, god has no image, he's everwhere, so how could he 'build' us to see everything he does? we're just a mere remnant of something much greater....
