Cheaper than what?
Oil !
PCV valve needs replacing or the rings are bad.
I had oil on the sparkies on my old saturn... my valve cover gasket and the inner rings were toast try replacing them... |-|3x@|_07

h22a motors are oil burners. most likely its the valve seals, or piston rings. in my case it was the piston rings though. the sleeves on the h22 is way to hard of material and it wears down the rings really fast. try some aftermarket rings if you plan on replacing them
Every engine model has a different size of rings. The rings are probably the hardest part to change, because you have to disassemble the entire engine. If removing, tearing down and rebuilding an engine is beyond your abilitys, you should get a good used engine and swap it. Often replacing it with a used engine will be much cheaper.
Don't change the mix ratio. More horsepower is produced when mixed at 20 to 1 than at ratios higher 32 to 1 or 50 to 1. The more oil the better the rings seal and the less friction of piston to cylinder clearance and better heat transfer from the piston to cylinder. One problem is the the carb jetting must be proper no matter what ratio you mix at. Which is cheaper replacing Pistons and Rings or a little extra oil and a dirty exhaust.
if oil is getting into spark plugs, this indicates that either the valve stem seals need replacing,or the oil rings on pistons are worn and need replacing. if valve stem seals are the problem ,the vehicle will really be blowing a lot of exhaust smoke to the extent sometimes that it will look like a smoke screen behind you
Changing the pistons will NOT fix an oil problem UNLESS you have a hole in the piston, which would cause many more problems as well. Placing new rings on the pistons, along with honing the cylinder walls (which is necessary if you are replacing rings) WILL allow the cylinder to seal better, improving compression and stopping oil slipping past the oil ring. It would be wise to check valve guides and seals as well if you decide to change the rings.
Yes, the oil level switch for a 1997 Polaris Sportsman typically includes O-rings to ensure a proper seal and prevent leaks. These O-rings are crucial for maintaining the integrity of the oil system. If you're replacing the switch, it's a good idea to inspect the O-rings and replace them if necessary to avoid any potential issues. Always refer to the specific service manual for detailed information on parts and maintenance.

Rebuild the engine. Oil is leaking past the rings. You will likely note that it is blowing blue smoke as well.
