Absolutely not! Although it isn't the real NHL, there is still checking, tripping (although illegal in the game, players still do it but get called). For example. My cousin plays roller hockey and he has a HUGE gash on his upper leg and its been there for a good 3 weeks. So yes, roller hockey is a contact sport.
