580 is the newer version of the Mini 14 Ranch, minor engineering changes, improved accuracy, etc.
No, the M14 and Ruger Mini-14 are completely different firearms. The Mini-14 was designed for the civilian market as a .223 caliber rifle based on the looks of the M14, which fires the larger 7.62x51mm round and has fully automatic capabilities. They do both however have a gas-operated rotating bolt action.
If that is what is printed on your barrel. Most will fire 5.56 x 45. They are not the same.
Yes, it was. Go to the Ruger website for more information. The military round is the 5.56x45 - while dimensionally similar to the .223 Remington, it is not entirely the same. The standard and Ranch models of the Mini 14 have a 5.56x45 chamber, which can accept both 5.56 and .223 Remington ammo. The Target models, however, have a dedicated .223 Remington chamber, and were not designed to use 5.56x45 military ammo.
Ruger.com has sn data. Check the auction sites for ones in the same age range.
There are a very large number, and a complete list would not be feasible. But some examples can be given. While the .223 Remington is dimensionally similar to the military 5.56x45 cartridge, the two are not the same. A 5.56 rifle may chamber a .223 cartridge - it is not recommended to try firing 5.56 ammo in a rifle with a dedicated .223 chamber. The AR-15 and variants and clones, Ruger Mini 14, and Kel Tec SU16 are some more common examples of rifles which can chamber the .223 Remington cartridge. The ones listed have a 5.56x45 chamber, although Target models of the Ruger Mini 14 have a dedicated .223 Remington chamber.Variants of rifles such as the Winchester Model 70, Remington 700, and Ruger No. 1 have been made with dedicated .223 chambers.
Rossi and Taurus. Ruger also made a semi-auto .44 mag carbine.
most minis are .223 caliber aka 5.6 NATO <><><><><> Although similar, the .223 Remington and the 5.56x45 are NOT the same cartridge. A rifle chambered for 5.56 can shoot .223 safely. The reverse is not true- a rifle chambered for .223 MAY be unsafe with 5.56 ammo- it has a slightly longer cartridge case, and is loaded to higher pressures. Safe bet is to check the caliber marked on the firearm, and stick with that.
As long as both the rifle and the revolver are chambered in .44 magnum you can use the same ammunition for both. I have a Henry rifle in .44 mag and a Ruger redhawk .44 mag and I use the same ammo for both. That's one of the nice things about that caliber.
yes they are ranch and buttermilk just have different names they are the same product
Yes
No, they do not use the same magazines.
No, the Mini-14 and M16 magazines are not the same. They have different designs and dimensions to accommodate each rifle's specific feeding and operating mechanisms. It is important to use the correct magazine for each rifle to ensure proper functionality and reliability.
